Light, air and fire are the elements around which Jürgen Ertl’s life revolves. The trained chaser designs unique casting models from which aesthetic glass designs are created: he has been responsible for mould construction at Ritzenhoff since 1996, is head of the glass blowing production department and constantly switches between the fields of craftsmanship and art. In order to transform everyday glass into sparkling light objects, he pushes both traditional procedures and technical possibilities to the limit. He also now and again creates filigree sculptures from delicate material for new series.
